3-4 years ago were the hardest years of our lives. I moved into my own house, living on my own every other week for the first time ever (getting to have my kids every other week. Parenting mostly alone on those weeks.) It was an adjustment for everyone. I was struggling, the kids were struggling, we were a hot mess.
While we were on a roller coaster ride of our "new" lives trying to find some sort of normalcy and a new groove; we had a shining light in our home often, Madi. She was happy, cheerful, kind to my son, bestie to my daughter, and like a 2nd daughter to me (even though I lovingly call her My Bestie). Madi became such a part of our family she is even framed and up on our kitchen wall with the rest of our family portraits.
The four of use had so many crazy adventures back then, from driving around with the music up loud, to playing tennis, bed jumping stunts and so much more.
Now that Madi and Isabel can drive they don't "need" me to drive them around for them to find fun. I'm super fortunate that they sometimes still let me tag along or will occasionally still venture into my room for silly chats.
I asked Madi if we could do an portrait session so I could update my picture of her and she agreed. She picked out her outfit and we drove around, having more adventures. We are so lucky to have her in our lives. She helped us get through tough times and has been there for all three of us. We love you Madi!!!!!
