As a portrait photographer, I’m often told by parents, “We used to take photos every year when the kids were little…but now that they’re older, it’s harder to find the time.” And I get it—life moves fast, schedules get busy, and suddenly your “little one” is a teenager with a personality all their own.

But that’s exactly why annual family photos matter even more as kids grow up.

As kids get older, the way your family interacts shifts. Teens bring humor, independence, and a new kind of connection that’s wonderful to photograph.
